Our rules are intended to keep campers safe & enhance
everyone's camping experience!
Please
ask us if you have a question. SAFETY
FIRST! In
The Event Of An Emergency: Dial
911 first! (A Pay phone is located on the front porch of the store).
Then, please call the store during store hours at 789-3251, or after store
hours, call 789-2487 and we'll meet the emergency vehicles and escort them
to your site. If you have discourteous neighbors or utility outages,
please call us!
Weather
Emergencies: If
the fire siren sounds a high pitch for an extended time, it is a severe
weather emergency. We recommend you seek shelter at the main building Rec.
Hall or at the East Mead Fire Hall immediately. The Fire Hall is one mile
West of the campground on Rt. 27.
Missing
Child/Person Emergency:
An air horn alarm being sounded by campground management, campground
employee, or other designate is a missing person alarm.
Your
entire camping family and all visitors must report to your campsite, lock
your camping unit, and all motor vehicles, and report to the Rec. Hall
immediately.
You
must register as accounted for with the member of management at the Rec.
Hall, sit down, and await an all clear.
In addition, only adult volunteers (over 21) may be members of a
search party.
Injuries
& Accidents: Please
immediately report any injuries or accidents that require medical
attention or result in damage to your or someone else's property.
Any pet attacks or bites, whether animal on animal, or animal on person,
should be reported at the office immediately.
Bicycles:
Bicycle
riding is permitted during daylight hours only. (When the lights
come on, the bikes are gone (i.e. put away!). All children
under 12 are required to wear bike helmets. It's PA
State Law! All bicyclists must obey all posted street signs
including speed limit and stop signs. Bicycles are to be parked in
the bicycle rack and not in driveways, roadways, parking lots, on the
porches and sidewalks of buildings. Please review and enforce these
rules with your children.
All biking is at your own risk.
Speed
Limit: 5
MPH for all vehicles including bicycles.
All vehicles must follow the posted road signs.
Watch
for children and ducks!
Campsites:
No
cutting through campsites. You can trip on tent stakes, not see a
tethered pet, or walk into a clothesline! It's dangerous &
rude!.
Fires:
All fires are required to be contained within the provided fire ring
and extinguished prior to retiring for the night.
Do not move or relocate fire rings! Do not stack fire
rings, exchanging fire rings with another campsites, or place
non-burnables in fire rings (no glass, metal, nor construction materials
containing nails, screws, paint, varnish, or pressure treated, etc.).
Adults
are required to supervise children.
Firewood: Out of state firewood is strictly prohibited! It's Penna. State Law! Firewood from Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, or Lawrence Counties has been quarantined due to the Ash Bore Beetle Infestation and is strictly prohibited. Firewood may be purchased at the campground store or locally within Crawford County. No gathering or cutting firewood of any kind from our woodland areas. You may burn pre-cut, pre-split, and seasoned firewood only (not to exceed 18" in length)! Please
Note: Bringing Out-of-state firewood into
Penna. is illegal. In addition No
Fireworks or Firearms Are Permitted! Only
hand-held sparklers are permitted under adult supervision. No
throwing sparklers! No other fireworks are permitted! Paddle
Boats: May
be rented at the store/office. Life jackets are required! It's
Penna. State Law! No standing in boats, no getting on or off
boats anywhere except at the dock, no splashing, no bumper boating, and no
chasing ducks! No horseplay of any kind! Please stay away from
people fishing. All boating is at your own risk. Pool
Rules: Pool
is open Memorial Day Through Labor Day (Weather Permitting). Open
swim hours are Noon-4:00 & 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Adults Only Swim
is 4:00-5:00. (Adults only swim is only open to those over 18 years
of age!). Children 12 & under require adult supervision
(someone over 21) to swim. Including when a pool monitor is on duty.
No running, diving, jumping, smoking, pets, alcohol, or glass
containers are allowed within the pool area. You must wear proper
swimming suits.
No metal buckles, etc. Dry off before entering the building
& bathroom area! Please follow and enforce all posted pool rules
with your children. All swimming is at your own risk. CAMPGROUND

Neighbor Policy:
Please
keep your neighbor in mind by being considerate in of others in your daily
activities.
As our registered guest you are responsible for all guests &
children at your campsite.
Prices are for 2 adults and 2 children per campsite.
There is an eight (8) person per campsite maximum, including
visitors & campers.
Guests:
All guests are required to register at the office prior to entry!
(There are no exceptions)! Any
vehicles (without mirror tags designating them as registered) on camp-
ground property are subject to towing at the owner's expense! If
your visitors are coming in before or after store hours, it is your
responsibility to register them at the office during store hours and get a
tag for them to display on their vehicle rearview mirror! All
daytime visitors (blue tags) may only visit after 9:00 am, and must
leave the park by 11:00 pm.
As our registered guest you are responsible for all guests &
children at your campsite.
Brookdale
Is A Pet-Friendly Park:
No
aggressive or excessive barking pets allowed. We
strictly enforce our pet restrictions: Pets are to be leashed
100% of the time, cleaned up after 100% of the time, attended to 100% of
the time if outside the camping unit, and barking is to be minimized.
The leash law is Penna. State Law! Electric fences and shock
collars do not constitute a physical leash. Do not leave
pets unattended and outside the camping unit, nor tethered to picnic
tables, posts, fences, etc. which are campground property. Pets are
not allowed inside the store, pool area, Rec. Hall, bathhouse, or
any of the campground buildings. Excessive barking will not be
tolerated. Pets are not allowed in, or at the cabins!
If you are camping at the cabins, we're sorry but your pets cannot camp
with you. Quiet
Hours: Are
from 11:00 pm to 8:00 am. No loud music at any time! If
your neighbors complain, it's too loud! Our phone number is posted
under emergencies above. If you need us because of discourteous
campers, please contact us. All children (including teens), are
required to be on their campsites during quiet hours. Check-in/Check-out
Times: 2:00 pm for campsites & cabin check-in is 3:00 pm & check
out is 1:00. We absolutely do not allow early check-ins on
Saturdays.
All check-ins should be made during normal store operating hours.
Call us if you are going to arrive late and need access to the campground.
We do not allow check-ins after quiet hours (11:00 pm). Sundays
and holidays we allow late check outs providing no one is coming in
on your campsite. Please inquire at the office. Garbage
Disposal: Please
place your bagged garbage in the dumpster near the exit gate (located
across from the Propane Station) daily.
Please recycle.
Please separate and recycle your aluminum soda and beer cans from
the general garbage, and place the rinsed out cans in the recycling
containers.
Garbage draws animals into the park.
Please properly dispose of your garbage!
Thank you!
Tent
Camper’s Sink: Is available at the North side of the Pavilion &
Restroom.
It is designated for washing dishes (only). GENERAL
POLICIES: Alcohol
Is Restricted To Your Campsite: No
walking around the campground carrying alcoholic beverages, please. Alcohol
is not allowed at the events, pavilion, horseshoe pits, or at the
ponds while fishing. Kegs of beer are prohibited at all times.
Disorderly conduct or public drunkenness will result in immediate removal
from the park! Empty alcoholic containers strewn around the
campsite is strictly forbidden.
This
is a FAMILY Campground: No
profanity, nudity, littering, stone throwing, nor other destructive or
dangerous behavior allowed. No defacing trees picnic tables or
campground property (including road signs)! Campers must be 21 to
rent a campsite or must have adult supervision on the premises while
camping.
Vehicle
Limit Per Site: Only
2 vehicles per site. No exceptions. Please consult the
campground map for visitor parking areas where extra vehicles may be
parked or ask at the office. All vehicles must display
a mirror tag.
Vehicle
Restrictions: Golf
Carts, 4-Wheelers, Off-Road Motorcycles, Mopeds, Scooters, Electric
Skateboards & small children's ride-on battery operated vehicles are
not to be run nor ridden in the park at any time, unless operated by
authorized campground personnel. Single person, electric handicap
scooters are permitted, and are to be operated only by the
designated handicapped person.
Fishing:
All
fishing is free, and no license is required! It is catch and
release fishing only (no keepers)! Fish are
not to be placed on stringers or in buckets. Please return the fish
to the lake or pond from which it was caught. If you catch your very
first fish (of any size) or a fish over 6", we'll take your
photo and place it on Brookdale's Famous Fishing Board. It is yours
to take with you when you leave! (Or, you may leave it until your
next visit!).
Restrooms:
Please
supervise children. Pets, laundry, or dirty dishes are not to be
washed in the restrooms. The Tent Camper's Sink at the back of
the upper bathhouse and pavilion area is designated for washing dishes!
Any damage to the restroom facilities is strictly forbidden, and
is a prosecutable offense. If you see it, please report it!
If a restroom is found in poor condition or requires attention, please
report it to the office immediately! Thank you for helping us
maintain a nice, clean facility. If it is absolutely necessary to
use the facility, please ask our cleaning personnel permission.
Defacing
trees, tables, signs, or other property: Defacing
anything is prosecutable.
Please report any misbehavior to the office immediately.
Thank you!
No
Washing of Vehicles: Please,
no washing of RV’s or vehicles are allowed during your weekend stay with
us! We use wells to supply our water. Thank you!
All
camping & Activities Are at Your Own Risk: Brookdale
Campground assumes no responsibility for damage of or loss of
property, nor does the campground assume any responsibility for the safety
or discipline of campers or guests. We reserve the right to revoke
camping privileges to anyone for the infraction of these or any
